FishWings version 0.87 released

FishWings is a free Apple II disk image utility for Windows. The latest release adds several features:

  • allows multiple file importing
  • fixed a bug in the context sensitive help
  • added support to view Integer BASIC listings
  • images may be “Drag and Dropped” into a FishWings window
  • TrackStore (.app) images can now be converted to .nib images; if they contain standard DOS 3.3 or ProDOS volumes FishWings will display them..

\"Apple in PC\" emulator\’s specialty is sound

While not a new release, this Apple IIe emulator for Windows somehow escaped mention. Keonwoo Kim’s Apple in PC emulates two or more Mockingboards or one Phasor, making games such as Ultima IV and Ultima V sound wonderful.

Version 0.1.22 is available as source code for you to compile. A ready-to-run binary version of 0.1.21 is also available (click the 5th link down on the left to reach the download page)..

Juiced.GS V9I2 posted on the web

Due to ongoing problems Juiced.GS is having with the company that does its printing, they’ve decided to post the issue on the Web in PDF format. While the issue will still be mailed to all subscribers as usual, this will let readers catch up on the latest without having to wait any longer, while Syndicomm grapples with the print shop. As an added bonus, the PDF version of the issue has color photographs..

Woz participates in Second Annual Robot Hall of Fame induction ceremonies

Apple II CFFA card news

Rich Dreher is asking all CFFA card owners who are interested in obtaining the new version 1.3 logic and firmware to email him. He is deciding on the distribution method for the update. Beta testers of the new version state that no problems have been encountered. The new firmware allows the card to work on the Apple II+ and IIe, whereas before it only worked on the IIe enhanced and IIGS.

The CFFA is an 8 bit card that allows one to use CompactFlash cards and IDE drives with an Apple II..
