Howard Katz has posted the December issue of Apple II News & Notes, the freely-redistributable newsletter for Apple II enthusiasts.
The Woz Wonderbook, the very first documentation for the Apple II (before even the Red Book), is now available for download. The Woz Wonderbook is a set of documentation, notes, code listings, and diagrams compiled by Woz during the early days of the Apple II.
Our parent company, Syndicomm, will be installing a system software upgrade on its main server on Saturday, January 1. This will involve about two hours of downtime that afternoon. Our site, as well as Syndicomm’s services, will all be unavailable for the duration. The KansasFest web site will also be offline, as it runs on the same server.
The latest release of faddenSoft’s CiderPress improves the tape cassette archiving feature by removing the previous limit of eight programs per cassette. A couple of interface tweaks also are included.v2.1.2 – 23-Dec-2004
Starting on January 14th, Syndicomm’s Apple II forum will host a monthly Apple II programming chat at 7:00 Pacific Time on the second Friday of each month. The chat will be held in room 5 of the Apple II chat area.
Kelvin has posted Inkblot, a new Twilight II screen saver module, to his web site. The module draws inkblot-like designs on the screen.
Kelvin Sherlock has updated Lilian to version 1.0.2; Lilian adds a ten-most-recent-applications list to the Finder. QServer has been updated to version 1.0.1. It’s a quote-of-the-day server that runs as an NDA. The programs and their source code are available from Kelvin’s web site.
Jeri Ellsworth, designer of the C-One configurable computer and originator of the AnyCard project, is featured in an article on News.com. Updated: Jeri is also profiled in the New York Times and has been mentioned on Slashdot.
DigiCraft Software of Australia is offering a limited number of 2005 calendars on which each month features a different classic computer. The month of July is represented by the venerable Apple //e. The calendars sell for US $7.99 apiece plus shipping.
Lyle Syverson has released the December, 2004 issue of The Lamp!, the monthly overview of the best posts on Syndicomm Online’s A2 forum. The newsletter is available in text, AppleWorks, and HyperCard IIgs formats.
