Syndicomm only recently learned that noted Apple II programmer and gaming pioneer Silas Warner
passed away February 26th, 2004. His resume is posted on his site, a tribute to his many technical achievements. While not active in the Apple II development community for several years, his early work was an inspiration for many, including John Carmack, John Romero and many others who started out on the Apple II and now push the envelope of today’s modern gaming platforms. Among his more memorable works, Silas programmed the famous original Castle Wolfenstein (the first talking Apple II game) and Beyond Castle Wolfenstein.
