The latest version of Andy McFadden’s CiderPress adds the ability to recognize and convert Magic Window files. It also improves the Applesoft importer. CiderPress is a superb Windows utility for working with Apple II disk images and files.

Detailed changes in version 2.4.4 include the following:

  • Added recognition and conversion of Magic Window “formatted” documents to plain text.
  • Fixed a bug in Applesoft BASIC import that caused some keywords to be mishandled (notably HGR2 and ONERR, which parsed as HGR 2 and ON ERR).
  • Modified Applesoft import to convert characters not in DATA/REM statements or in quoted text to upper case. This is needed for variable names.
  • Modified Merlin assembly source formatter to track quoted text.
