Bill Martens wrote in with the sad news that A.P.P.L.E. founder and Apple II pioneer Val J. Golding has passed away. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.

For those of you who knew Val J. Golding, the founder of A.P.P.L.E., it is with great sadness that I must announce his passing. He died of complications from cancer this past month. Val was 77 years old. He will be missed by many in the computing world, the educational world, and the railroad community. He touched many lives and was a wonderful resource of information and a great french horn musician.

A.P.P.L.E. will be releasing an issue of Call-A.P.P.L.E. this coming week dedicated to Val and his legacy. Anyone who knew him or worked with him is welcome to send messages to the webmaster at callapple dot org or to me. We will print as many of them as we can in the issue.

Val J. Golding, on behalf of a grateful community of Apple users, we thank you. Rest in peace.
