MacEffects, an online shop that specializes in clear cases and other aesthetic improvements for classic Apple II and Macintosh hardware, has launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for the Apple IIc.

Based on the success with the Apple IIc Backlit Mechanical Keyboard, we are now offering custom, injection-molded cases for the Apple IIc, which will come in clear and black!

Our custom clear cases will add a unique visual appearance that matches the mechanical keyboards.  Now is a chance to get your very own custom case!

Cases will be injection molded of ABS plastic without fire-retardant added to prevent yellowing. Each case will feature original text and iconography.

Kickstarter

MacEffects’ black case is reminiscent of the “Darth Vader” Bell & Howell Apple II Plus from the early 1980s.

The campaign is seeking to raise US$49,900 before Monday, 30 October 2023. At the time of this writing, the Kickstarter has been live for 23 hours and has already raised 34% of its goal. The website Kicktraq predicts that MacEffects’ campaign will meet its goal handily, building on their history of four previous successful Kickstarter campaigns.
