Syndicomm Online has activated web access to the Apple II bulletin board. The board software is still undergoing enhancements, but is quite usable.

We don’t plan to renew the “a2people.com” domain name when it comes up for renewal in July, so if you’ve been using an a2people.com email address, switch over to syndicomm.com (just change it in your mail software; it works automatically).

A2Central.com paying members can now access our interim file library by FTP. With over 18,000 files (and more coming every day), it’s one of the largest repositories for Apple II software in the world. Every file is screened, virus checked, and verified as functional. Members can use an FTP client and connect to ftp.syndicomm.com, using their own username and password?then move to the /pub/members-only/a2 directory?to access the library. A more convenient interface is planned for later this spring.

Syndicomm will perform hardware maintenance the afternoon of Saturday, April 7. Services will be interrupted for an hour or two.

Due to problems with our new backbone, we have reverted temporarily to the previous one until the problems can be resolved. This may affect performance and reliability slightly for the next few weeks. We apologize in advance for any problems you may encounter.

On Tuesday, March 6, starting at about 1:00 PM PST, we will begin one last hardware upgrade, replacing a secondary server with more powerful hardware. The outage should last only an hour or so.
