Swedish Apple User Group to meet October 21

The Swedish AUG’s fall meeting will take place on October 21 at 13:00 Central European Time (CET). For more information, visit http://www.appleusergroup.org. A2Central.com has ended the auction of the PC Transporter software early; one of our readers has offered to donate a softwareless PC Transporter card and 5.25-inch disk drive to be added to the auction. Once we have the hardware, we’ll start the auction over again, with the card included. .

A2Central.com adds some DiskCopy versions of Apple software

We’ve now added DiskCopy versions of Apple’s System 6.0.1 for the Apple IIGS and of the Apple II 8-bit system disk to our Apple software download area. These are available compressed using either StuffIt or Zip. Other software will become available in these formats soon..

Pangea Software’s Apple II games now freeware

Howard Katz of the Lost Classics Project has informed A2Central.com that Brian Greenstone of Pangea Software (now a developer of popular Macintosh games) has released its Apple II commercial game Xenocide as freeware, as well as its entire shareware product line, including games such as Senseless Violence, Grackle, Copy Killers, Cosmocade, and Orbizone. Kim Howe releases new game, Shipwrecked!

Kim Howe, author of the in-progress Arachnid web browser, has released his first Apple IIGS game, Shipwrecked! . It’s an adventure game written in HyperCard IIGS, so you’ll need a copy of HyperCard to play it. You can download the HyperCard IIGS disks from A2Central.com. .
