Steve Wozniak\’s KFest keynote a success

Tuesday’s keynote address by Steve Wozniak was a rousing success. Woz also spent hours chatting with us and was a great deal of fun to hang out with. He also signed many, many autographs on everything from name tags to T-shirts to books to computers.

We’d like to thank Woz for coming to KFest this year, and we hope to see him again next year..

CiderPress 1.2.2 released

Andy McFadden has released CiderPress 1.2.2, the incredible Apple II file and disk archive utility for Windows. The new version supports converting AppleWorks 3.0 spreadsheets into comma-separated-value files, which can be read by most spreadsheets. With this feature added, CiderPress now supports all AppleWorks document types.

The new version also adds support for converting MacPaint images. Additionally, you can specify file extensions that will be viewed in an external program; for example, if you specify .GIF and .JPG, CiderPress will now display these files using whatever program Windows would normally display them in. This lets you view files without manually extracting them first.

Finally, CP/M disk image support has been improved, with better determination of file lengths and support for the read-only flag. Sparse files are also now supported properly..
