Apple //c VGA interface announced for KFest

Ferdinand Meyer-Hermann has announced he will be demonstrating his VGA interface for 8bit Apple II computers at KFest. Additionally, A2Central has learned that the the first version of Ferdinand’s VGA adapter will be for the Apple //c and IIc Plus, followed later by a version for slot-equipped Apple II computers. We’ve heard that a small production run of these adapters may be for sale during KFest at a special, discounted conference-only price.

The adapters will be sold exclusively through ReactiveMicro. A2Central will post pricing and ordering information as soon as details are disclosed at KFest.

KansasFest 2009 registration now open

Come to KansasFest, assemble your own Replica 1

According to the latest posting on the KansasFest web site, Vince Briel has volunteered to host an interactive workshop on assembling a Replica 1 kit. The Replica 1 is a functional clone of the original Apple-1 designed by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. For only the cost of the kit ($149 USD), attendees will have the opportunity to build their own Replica 1 under Briel’s expert supervision.

Jason Scott to keynote KansasFest 2009

KANSAS CITY, MO — December 18, 2008 — Technology historian and documentarian Jason Scott will be the keynote speaker at KansasFest 2009, the world’s only Apple II computer convention. Scott, whose documentary about dial-up bulletin board systems was presented at KansasFest 2007, brings with him a comprehensive insight into the Apple II and its role in the development of the personal computer.

“I’ve been wanting to attend KansasFest for years,” said Scott. “That there’s still an Apple II conference going on after all this time is just wild.”

KansasFest web site relaunched

KansasFest, the world’s only annual Apple II computer convention, has launched a redesigned Web site. The event’s online presence has not only a new look, but also plenty of added functionality, including RSS and Twitter feeds, an updated photo gallery, and an exhaustive file archive from past KFests.
