After a long absence, the official online application for requesting new file type assignments is finally available through A2Central.com. Syndicomm was officially selected by Apple to take over file type assignments almost a decade ago, and finally the process has been brought to A2Central.com for the convenience of Apple II developers everywhere.
Once the application is filed using our handy online application form, a panel of Apple II experts will review the request to be sure it’s not a request for a type that already exists, then assign it a type and auxtype value.
