Juiced.GS has released a new version of Opus ][, the complete collections of The Byte Works‘ compilers, utilities, and tutorials.

The updated editions — the first in 23 years — include Stephen Heumann’s ORCA/C v2.2.0, which was demonstrated at KansasFest 2023. v2.2.0 offers the following enhancements over v2.1.0:

  • Added support for almost all language and library features required by the C17 standard
  • Improved lint checks and debugging features to help detect errors
  • New options for pre-include files and C standard selection
  • Improvements to generated code
  • Auto-segmenting linker
  • Hundreds of bug fixes

Opus ][ now also features these improvements:

  • Floppy disk images have been converted to .2mg format and given appropriate filename suffixes
  • GS-20 Toolbox C.pdf has been corrected to its full length
  • Macintosh-specific MS Word documents converted to universal DOC format

Originally released in 2000 by Syndicomm, Opus ][ includes 35 commercial applications, 16 unreleased applications, and over a million lines of code, all of which were originally sold separately for US$1,680. The Opus ][ volumes were re-released by Juiced.GS in 2015 and are available at the same price as always: The Software and The Source are $25 each, or $40 from both, with instantaneous download access. (CD & USB formats are also available for an additional fee.)

Customers who have previously purchased Opus ][ from Juiced.GS can get the new versions for free in the downloads section of their online store accounts.
