Today βΒ 40 years and one day after the release of the Apple IIc βΒ the KansasFest committee announced that former Apple employee Rob Gemmell will be a featured speaker at this year’s convention.
Gemmell spent eight years at Apple as a creative director and senior product designer in the Apple Industrial Design Group, where he was responsible for the initial design of the Apple IIc. According to the press release:
Rob saved most of his memorabilia from his Apple days, including unique prototype sketches and drawings, blueprints, photographs and slides, and internal company documents. During his virtual presentation, Rob will share highlights from his extensive collection, and offer KansasFest attendees a rare glimpse into the creative design process at Apple Computer during the 1980s.
KansasFest 2024 to feature Rob Gemmell
Gemmell will be one of KansasFest’s several featured speakers, a move away from having just one keynote speaker highlighting the event. He currently serves as the CMO of iPowerUp, which makes solar-powered smartphone cases; and co-founder and managing principal at Addwater, a brand strategy and online media design consultancy.
KansasFest 2024 will be held at University of Illinois Springfield this July 16β21. Registration is now open.
