Joe Strosnider of Joe’s Computer Museum has developed a working clone of the Diamond Trackstar Plus expansion card. Similar to how the PC Transporter allowed an Apple II to run PC DOS-based software, the Trackstar does just the opposite: installing it in a vintage IBM PC enables Apple IIe functionality with 128K of RAM.

Strosnider’s clone of Diamond Computer Systems’ 1988 card is not yet commercially available while he contemplates whether to reproduce the original design, or to redesign it using modern, surface-mounted parts. Though this decision will affect the final retail price, Strosnider estimates the former approach would be available for US$170 for a kit and $395 assembled.
