Open Apple, the Apple II community’s first co-hosted podcast, today published a previously unaired episode.

Recorded in July 2018, the episode features hosts Em Maginnis and Quinn Dunki interviewing John Keoni Morris of the Applesauce floppy disk controller. The Applesauce hardware and its WOZ disk format became the standard for archiving and preserving floppies, even after the device went out of stock in December 2022.

This interview is a snapshot in time and doesn’t reflect more recent developments, such as the upcoming Applesauce+ model. Interested parties can join the #applesauce channel in Slack for more details.

Other than memorial episodes and audio captured at conferences like KansasFest, this is the first original episode of Open Apple since March 2018. The show is listed on the “Retired” tab of A2Central.com’s podcast index; if this keeps up, we may need to move it to the “Active” tab.
