The KansasFest committee has issued a press release indicating that this year’s Apple II convention will be a three-day virtual event to be held July 18–20, 2025.

This news comes just ten days after a previous announcement that KansasFest 2025 would be hosted at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas.

“KansasFest has always strived to be a welcoming and inclusive event, and after listening to community feedback, we determined that proceeding with WSU would compromise those values,” wrote KansasFest board president Sean Fahey, specifically citing Kansas state legislation SB 180, colloquially known as a “bathroom bill”.

Fahey’s post also commits to increased transparency and community engagement, including in selecting future venues. He closes by stating that he will resign from the KansasFest committee effective July 31, 2025, shortly after the conclusion of this year’s event.

Registration for the online event will open on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, with prices to be announced later.
