Cory Wiegersma’s 68k Macintosh Liberation Army has forums for all vintage Apple products, from the Apple II to the Newton.
Founded in 1999 by Tom Owad, author of the book Apple I Replica Creation: Back to the Garage, Applefritter is possibly the most active Apple II forum on this list.
AtariAge was founded in 1998 as a source for all things Atari. Despite that focus (and its purchase in 2023 by Atari itself), it maintains an active Apple II forum.
reddit is organized into tens of thousands of “subreddits” for every political, technological, mundane, and inane topic imaginable. Although technically a social media site, its Apple II subreddit nonetheless meets our requirements as a message board.
The youngest forum on this list, Tinker Different was founded in 2021 as a forum for all retrocomputing enthusiasts, from Apple and Acorn to Commodore and Sinclair. The community extends into Discord as well.
The VCF hosts a variety of retrocomputing events in-person around the country. That momentum continues throughout the year in its online message boards.
