8-Bit-Shack has launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for UNDEAD, a new role-playing game (RPG) for the Apple II.
In UNDEAD, players explore 80 distinct rooms, all presented with double lo-res graphics, with a point-and-click interface reminiscent of the MacVenture classic Shadowgate, in their quest to free the land of Dysphoria from a witch’s curse. The game supports keyboard, mouse, and Mockingboard sound card, and requires an Apple IIe Enhanced or later with 128K RAM or more. UNDEAD can be played from floppy disk or hard drive.
The Kickstarter campaign seeks US$3,000 by September 7, 2024. Backers rewards include a downloadable copy of the game and its manual for $35; box sets, complete with USB drive and printed manual, are available for $65 each. Delivery is expected in September 2024.
8-Bit-Shack, which is listed in A2Central.com’s software vendor directory, has released a variety of Apple II games and utilities, including Angry Birds, Planet Invasion, and Identify-][. UNDEAD is by two of 8-Bit-Shack’s co-owners, Dan Henderson and Marc Golombeck.
